I get so busy and lost in the minutae of life that sometimes I completely forget to post about the really good things… the unexpected surprises and blessings, the little sweet moments, the cherished time with friends, the really good jobs with amazing clients, my wonderful coworkers….etc.

This is an example of a really amazing thing. I woke up one morning to this announcement… LUXLIFE Health and Beauty Awards 2026.

What a gift. I lose sight sometimes just how lucky I am to get to do something I love so much!

A chance to play with aging fx on our movie "...And Out Comes the Wolf"

Last year I worked on a movie called “…And Out Comes the Wolf” by Big Newport Studios. We had a big crew of bg and featured background actors and on this day our locations manager was stepping in to be the “grandma”. In the movie our “our grandma” gets sick and so we needed to age her and make her look more sickly.

I rarely get the chance to do fx makeup like this. It was layers of alcohol paint and dehydrating her skin to make her wrinkles look more pronounced. We bounced around adding latex but were short on time so it was all about shading and layering and sallowing and adding the red, browns in copious amounts and hoping it would read right with the lighting.

Overall, I am really pleased with the effect and how it looked in the film. It is fun for me to try new things and actually succeed the first time!

Numéro Berlin, Issue #4, "Amazonen"

Yay! It's finally out. I rarely get to do editorial work anymore. There's just not much here in Portland so I jumped at the opportunity to step back into this pool and finally be able to update my portfolio with new images! Win win all around.

This was photographed by Robbie Augspurger. Produced by Leah R. Brown. Styled by Goetz Offergeld, assist Rose Mackey. Makeup and hair by me and Shelly Willis. This is the first time I've been privileged enough to work with Shelly. She primarily works in LA and we tagged teamed on these models as there were 8 of them and each had 3-4 looks. Sometimes I did makeup, sometimes she did makeup, sometimes I did hair, sometimes she did hair. Sometimes we did both. It was a busy day to say the least!!!

A glimpse into the world of Bad Choices.

Bad Choices is a story of survivors of the collapse.

Written by Andy Batt, Bad Choices explores the dark spaces inside the minds of those who have to make the uneasy decisions that will keep them alive in their post-apocalyptic world—where there's nothing left but bad choices.

This project is an outstanding collaborative effort between some of the most brilliant and talented creatives in this city! Enjoy!!

This project has been over a year in the making and I've have been so excited to work on it and flex my fx makeup skills. The first round of portraits were to establish characters. Minimal makeup, minimal hair. Raw, gritty, real.

The second round of portraits is what you see below... character building in relationship to their environments and action. FX makeup (wounds, blood, dirt and smoke effects), wig styling, and rough makeup and hair. Quite the opposite of what I do on a "normal" job. :)
